daVinci Robotic Surgery: Revolutionizing GYN Procedures

Dr. Diana DeCotis-Smith

Dr. Diana DeCotis-Smith received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama in May 2003 and then went on to earn her medical degree from the University of South Alabama School of Medicine in May 2009. She completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital in Mobile in June 2013. Dr. DeCotis-Smith received the National Award for Excellence in Female Pelvic Medicine/Reconstructive Surgery American Urogynecologic Society for 2011-2012. She was honored for the Best Problem-Based Learning Initiative Project and Best Resident in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of South Alabama Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for 2012-2013. She was also an Administrative Chief Resident at the University of South Alabama Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for 2012-2013. Dr. DeCotis-Smith is also a part of the American Medical Association, American Medical Women’s Association and the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. DeCotis-Smith joined the Medical Staff at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in August 2013 and currently serves as a physician at Northwest Florida OB/GYN in Fort Walton Beach. She is also certified with the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System for gynecological surgery.
